    Notes
    • Millie left home in 1923 when she was eighteen years of age, and went to Middleton Colony, Middleton, Massachusetts (near Salem) with Charlotte MacIntyre and Lucy Bayliss. She was employed at a nursing home for a period of time. After beginning training as a nurse at Denver State Hospital, Millie was forced to pursue other avenues because of her nerves. In 1926 she worked as a waitress in Daytona Beach, Florida, and also waitressed one summer in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, and at Shiraffs in Boston. Millie later moved to Boston where she met and married Albert. They were married by a Justice of the Peace. Albert had rented an apartment before they were married, and they always lived in an apartment. Millie once told how one night when Al was still living alone, someone tried to break in through the window. He threw something at them, and Pauline is quite sure it was a clock that Millie gave to her; it has the corner bent right in.

After moving to Boston, Millie had her own business - an orthopedic shop where she sold Spencer support garments. Al worked as a draftsman/architect in Boston. He was originally from East Pepperell, Massachusetts. Al died of cancer in 1963, and was buried in New Hampshire. Millie was at home in Upper Brighton at the time, sick with cancer herself. Dalton, Ella and Verna attended the small Roman Catholic funeral.

In August of 1961 Millie had returned to NB and was cared for by her sister, Ella. She was sick for some time and wasted away to almost fifty pounds before dying on May 27, 1963. She is buried in the Bubar Cemetery in Upper Brighton beside her parents. Millie's siblings recall her fondly and remember how much they looked forward to her visits home. She was thoughtful, and always brought them some little thing. She also sent boxes from time to time, especially at Christmas - including a few trimmings, some of which still adorn Hallett Christmas trees today.

Millie and Albert had no children.
